Charlestown Mother's Association

History

Charlestown Mothers Association (www.charlestownmothersassociation.org) was started in 1996 when eight Charlestown Mothers began getting together for monthly dinners at local restaurants. Our membership grew, and in 2000, we incorporated as a non-profit organization with the goal of preserving Charlestown as a safe, clean and happy environment for children. We now have over 350 mothers in our group. We still get together for dinner on the second Wednesday of every month to socialize but we also focus on contributing in many other ways to our community.

Mission

We are a charitable organization dedicated to improving the community of Charlestown for all families.  We are composed of mothers who live in Charlestown and care about our community.

CMA has several roles in the community:

bullet

We support and encourage the continued success and existence of our neighborhood’s parks, schools, theater and youth sports

bullet

We host and/or participate in community events for families (Halloween parade, Holiday Party, and Easter Egg Hunt).

bullet

We support the college education of students from Charlestown by offering an annual $2,500 scholarship.

bullet

We hold a monthly social event for members so that the moms can meet one another to share parenting advice, swap community information and just socialize with their neighbors.

bullet

We hold an annual fund raiser- a Silent and Live Auction to fund our charitable activities.
