im a nice guy and try to be a good neighbor.

i pickup mail and packages when others are away.
i pickup trash around town.
i shovel out cars and driveways in the winter.
i bring leftover meals to others rather than throw them out.
i try to get to know people by name.
i keep my property clean and neat.
i wave hello as i drive down the street.
i deliver food gifts to neighbors at the holidays.
i helped EMTs get to an elderly neighbor that had fallen in her tub.
i respect the use of parking spot savers in the winter.
i knock on doors if someone is about to get ticketed or towed.
i donate to local charities.
i patronize local businesses.

in general, understand that i havent lived here as long as many others so i respect their space and just try to be a friendly, good citizen.

so last week i go on vacation. since my car would be towed due to street sweeping i put it on a side street, about 60 feet from where i would normally park it. when i get home i see that one of my lovely neighbors has decided to key the entire drivers side of my car.

why? you dont know own that spot. we all have the same charlestown resident stickers.

so why even bother bring nice? why not just be a jerk if thats how im going to be treated anyway.

thanks alot.

Don't change who you are for those who are nothing but sneaks who don't have the decency you have. They sit home stewing about a stupid parking spot, personalizing the whole situation, like you are taking something away from them and wait until the dead of night (because they are spineless) to key your car....subtly letting you know that you weren't supposed to park there. That is as good as their life gets. They are losers. It happens all over town....and NO - it's not OK to do that to anyone.
